The techno visionary talks to EQTV about Bloc, his residency at the festival, his RadioNasty project alongside Keith Tenniswood and the imminent resurrection of his pioneering labels Tortured and Electrix...

It's the UK equivalent of Sonar, says Billy Nasty of Bloc. And he should know -- he's been the festival's resident since it launched back in 2007. It's easy to see why Billy makes the comparison -- Bloc's underground ethos has attracted the likes of Orbital, Hawtin, Villalobos, Jeff Mills, Four Tet, Actress and dozens more to this year's party, and where else would you see a line-up like this, other than in Barcelona. The festival has been a regular highlight of Billy's year since it started, and now he's looking forward to it arriving in his home town of London.

He's also hyped about appearing twice -- on Friday, playing between Richie Hawtin and Snoop Dogg (!) and on Saturday teaming up with his old mucker Keith Tenniswood (aka Radioactive Man) for a set as RadioNasty. The duo have been playing out together for a while now, but of this year's Bloc, they're trying something a little bit different...

Billy is also relaunching his ground-breaking labels Tortured and Electrix, and they're coming back with a bang -- Rolando, Ben Sims, The Advent, Inigo Kennedy, Oliver Ho of Detroit Grand Pubahs, Carl Finlow, Sync24 and Transparent Sound all have releases in the pipeline. Click play and find out more about Billy's plans for Bloc, RadioNasty and his labels...

Bloc is on July 6 & 7 at the London Pleasure Gardens. Visit www.blocweekend.com. Tortured and Electrix relaunch later this year -- keep an eye on Billy's Facebook page www.facebook.com/djbillynasty for full details...
