Way back in 1992, I wrote a song for the band, 'Dreamtime'. That song was "Heart of Gold" (It was supposed to be called "Heart of Stone" but in a 3 person democracy that title was vetoed by the other band members (Michael & Richard)).
Fast forward 21 years & Michael suggested that it would be fun to rework the track. So in June 2013 we jammed & recorded drums, bass & basic guitar parts before presenting it to Krzys. From there, Michael & I developed the song with a heavier sound. Michael & Krzys wrote some lyrics for the first verse & chorus & I later augmented them with lyrics for a second verse & chorus. Michael spent a lot of time refining the drum parts and the very catchy lead guitar which follows the final chorus and I added an acoustic arpeggio to the interlude. The result... The chord sequence is identical to "Heart of Gold" but the vocal melody & instrumentation is quite different.
