DISGUST

Formed in Cambridge, Ontario's DISGUSTING came together in October of 2000. At this point the band was titled 'Princess Powerpuffs' (Brian Figueiredo - Vocals, Guitar/ Sean Giacomini - Guitar /Abe Scheidel - Bass, Vocals and Chris Giacomini - Drums) and had consisted of drop-tuned metal with inspiration from The Beegees, Celine Dion, and David Bowie. After playing a few local shows this band of 15 year old's started to grow up and realize that they were becoming old fat portuguese men. After searching for a sound that was stolen and rather cliche, these virgin teenagers heading into adulthood with the influence of shitty bands, the band was known as being rather taboo.
In the early year of 2002 Brian Figueiredo and Abe Scheidel had written a variety of new material which had consisted of influence from band's like The Cure, Tsunami Bomb, and Billy Talent; and of other underground bands of Synthpop, Folk, Gospel, and New Country genres. Patching things up with a serious band meeting between the four members the band had returned as DISGUSTING. In the summer of 2002 the band had performed and picked up a couple of shows but concentrated on maintaining a flow of new and heavier mainstream music, influenced mainly by Kings of Leon, and consistent jamming.
