Johnny Dipstick & SQ Radio Show 1982 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 27, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
1980, I bought two turntables and a microphone to make mix tapes. John and Jeri were record collectors same as me. We frequented record shops looking for eclectic music to share with each other. We put together a fake radio station with call letters KFLS - 109FM (K-floss) and recorded station IDs and movie audio drops to cassette tape. Before CDs, mp3s, Pro Tools, ipods etc. we recorded on-the-fly shows from vinyl to cassette with no editing. Last week, I found this tape in a box of Xmas stuff. It was lost for decades like a unicorn in a box of tinsel. My two bestys John and Jeri broke into my house when I was in Bridgeport, Ca. for opening day of trout season. They drank all my booze and ate my munchies etc. Oh, and they made this super cool tape and dropped it in my mailbox! Jeri passed away in 2002 and John passed in 2003 too soon, too young. I love hearing their voices, humor and music choices after 35 years. Please enjoy from glorious lofi cassette: The Johnny Dipstick & SQ Radio Show. Recorded April - 1982.
