Dinosaur BBQ Chicago - Final touches by artists Elliott Mattice & Kathy Maio - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 30, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
A look at artist Elliott Mattice and his partner Kathy Maio's work on the new Dinosaur BBQ in Chicago. Sadly, "Avery" my pet cat of 18 years passed away while we were away. All in all, we got it done in time for opening day and it was another successful project. This is the 9th location of the Dinosaur BBQ.

Trivia: The Chicago street racing mural is a visual nod to 1970's drag racing in Chicago. I included legendary racer "Big Willie" Robinson and his Daytona racer. Back in the seventies, Willy visited Chicago and helped organize street races that united a troubled city on many levels. The police noted that gang related crime dropped during those events, and his influence was a very powerful positive force back in the day. I thought it was fitting that he be included in the artwork that graces the walls of the new Dinosaur BBQ.
