This was the very first single Gita sung. This song was in the sixth album of ADA Band in 2005, and it brought the band to get a quadruple platinum award as the album "Heaven of Love" was then sold 600 thousand copies. I have covered her single Sempurna, twice in this YouTube channel. First as the guest conductor and arranger of UTP Chinese Orchestra and Hua Du High School in Malaysia, and second as a piano duel with Diby. But this is my first time I played piano with the singer herself. This song is also famous for its short title "Father".

Here's the English translation of the lyrics:

YANG TERBAIK BAGIMU (The Best for You)

I remember my childhood, you hugged and indulged me
What a wonderful moment, I felt like flying high
By your side I could feel your fragrance and warm breath
You told me all your hopes and dreams

You wanted me to be the best for you,
to obey your orders and to stay away from temptations,
that I might did as I grew up
And not to let temptations trap me, make me fall, and bring me down.

Reff:
Lord help me, send him a million of loves
I'll keep my promise not to betray his hopes
Father please listen how much I really love you
I'll prove I can fulfil your wishes.

I wish that time could be turned back...
I miss the moment you washed my soul, brought happiness to me,
who's always thirsty of your love and affection
to bring everything left behind into reality

Setia Pramana's quote in the middle of the song:
"Gita Gutawa's song, Father, accompanied my journey when I departed to Europe to pursue my further study"
