Her sultry voice captures the “versatility of jazz that exemplifies romantic love” is what I’m reading about Singer/Songwriter and music producer Lisa Deveaux. Music critics say she has a mix of island-style jazz sounds that blend in with smooth R&B. All I know is that I enjoy her music style very much and knew I would be sharing Lisa’s music with you on the Channel. Shakin’ that Jazz, initially released in 2003, is her debut album, of which Lisa wrote the title track. The album pays homage to several jazz legends and accompaniment on the album includes the great R&B and jazz pianist Bobby Lyle; the dynamic jazz saxophonist, Everette Harp; and the extraordinary jazz violinist, Karen Briggs. According to her BIO, Lisa is the daughter of a showbiz father and has been involved with music since age 11. Before writing and producing her solo album, Lisa did background vocals for music icon(s) Barry White and Phyllis Hyman. Her singing performances while touring both locally and abroad is what brought Lisa Deveaux into the mainstream of contemporary smooth jazz and urban R&B music. Her follow-up and latest album, “Language of Love”, was released in 2011.
