"One Night Stand Sessions"

There are those magical moments you do not expect, those able to mark us for life, those that challenge our lives from a moment to another...
It's often about encounters, specific moments and places, a series of coincidences, planets and stars that line up.

Bad # Diez and Uptone Records have decided to provoke these encounters that only happen once in a lifetime, by bringing together two groups who don't know each other in order to record that night in the studio and make a maxi Vinyl LP in limited edition!

Session # 1: Benjamin Siksou x HornDogz!

They had not met yet, however, they have many references in common: a passionate love for Afro American music and a taste for live show.

What differentiates them?

Almost a 20 year gap, and a story utterly different.
While HornDogz was setting the French scenes on fire with the Malka Family, as the messiah of French Funk music in the 90s, Benjamin was barely celebrated his 10th birthday and was more doomed to a career as tennis player than as a singer!

While some were along with the greatest Soul, Reggae, French and international Funk artists, Benjamin was building a huge musical culture, was taking his marks in Parisian jazz clubs as a writer, composer and performer, before passing by the box 'Nouvelle Star' (the French' American Idol) where he will be discovered by the general public.

What makes them alike?

The artistic requirements, the love for the vinyl, the Funk, Soul music, for all that music that touches us too.
They wanted to live these moments of music that we only experience once, and to play the game of One Night Stand sessions...

Bringing these two artists into the studio is a huge challenge!
A one-night stand,
A story up in the air,
An event where you had to be

The tracks from the encounter:

Cab Calloway's Flow
Composed with 8 Hands, that original track is a nod to the famous master of ceremonies of Harlem
Also remixed into 2 completely different styles by ASAGAYA and JIM DUNLOOP.

Lavabo
Cover by Alain Bashung, track from the too little known album "Play Blessure" written by Serge Gainsbourg. The new wave keyboards of the original version gives way to the warm brass of the Horndogz,.
