JUNE UPDATE



PREORDERS - It maybe difficult to believe but I just added 23 new pre-order items. Many will ship before the end of June, the rest, early July. If you are on the fence about any of these releases, most of the bands have listed tracks from their new records on their myspace/websites. Needless to say, postage cost are still high and if you are planning on ordering more than 5x lps, please email me first to see if I might be able to save you some money on shipping.

BURNING LOVE - Now accepting pre-orders on their LP – SONGS FOR BURNING LOVERS. They are also on tour most of the summer. Burning Love started in 2007 as a side project to Cursed and Our Father, with the intention of making some loud and riff driven punk songs and mixing together the sounds of their varying favorites (from Black Flag and Hot Snakes to Kyuss or Turbonegro). BL has since taken to the front burner, touring at home and overseas and releasing two EPs - and now, their Songs For Burning Lovers LP. Produced by Ian Blurton and mastered by Mammoth Sound, SONGS FOR BURNING LOVERS delivers 12 tracks of fierce hardcore punk. WHITE LUNG - Now accepting pre-orders on their LP – IT’S THE EVIL. After 3 critically acclaimed 7”s (two of which on DERANGED) and a slight line up change, Vancouver’s WHITE LUNG deliver one fantastic debut album. Mix the punk venom of some of the more notorious riot grrrl bands of the 90’s with the guitar noodling and tempo of UK post punk by way of John Reis and you get something pretty close to WHITE LUNG.



MOLESTED YOUTH - Now accepting pre-orders for their debut 7”. Lots has changed in the 3 years they have been a band, including the departure of the original singer and the original drummer. the current line-up of sean, warren, zack, and richard has released a demo tape which was released in may of 2009, and a seven inch with deranged records (recorded by jonah falco of FUCKED UP) is on the way. coming to a northern east coast city near you in august of 2010, expect a fast, loud, and chaotic set from these Toronto drunkards.



BLOODY GEARS- Now accepting pre-orders for their debut 7”. After a stunning demo last year, Boston’s BLOODY GEARS return with a brilliant 7”. Imagine a more aggressive WIPERS mixed with early ARTICLES OF FAITH and you get something pretty close to BLOODY GEARS. This is a no-brainer – top notch hardcore punk. MRR had this to say about the demo – “This band already has a sound that's their own, but likely draws from THE OBSERVERS and LEATHERFACE,and there's something very Midwest about these songs as well, making me think of early ARTICLES OF FAITH and HUSKER DU."



MATURE SITUATIONS - Now accepting pre-orders for 2nd 7”- OLD HANDS. Mature Situations, the band, was borne of the need to trivialize the grievances and tribulations of the elderly, (in a sexual manner where possible), so as to anger karma and preemptively flip off the inevitable pants-shitting, Viagra-snorting, hip-replacing, sour-milk-smelling future of all men. Is nothing sacred? 4 new songs, featuring Chris Colohan (LEFT FOR DEAD , CURSED).



MALE NURSES - Now accepting pre-orders for their debut 7”. Another hardcore gem from the Boston region. MALE NURSES mix the Midwest hardcore sound of the 80’s with the South California mood of the same era.



RED DONS - Now accepting pre-orders for 2nd album – FAKE MEETS FAILURE and single. After the much lauded release of their debut album and successfully touring the US, Canada, Europe, and Brazil, the RED DONS entered a Portland studio to record ten new tracks. On this new album FAKE MEETS FAILURE (DERANGED RECORDS / TAKEN BY SURPRISE RECORDS), the band successfully develops their unique style even further. Coded lyrics about vagabond characters moving back and forth between the lines of the current climate of fear and suspicion that has been brought upon the USA by the war on terror. Again, consistent songwriting and a great production make this record stand out among the current competition. Combining TSOL-like vocals, SoCal punk rage, and the defiant melancholy of Pacific Northwesterners like the WIPERS this powerful release rises above the stack of contemporaries that take on the early 80s punk sound. MOTHER'S CHILDREN - Now accepting pre-orders on their LP – THAT’S WHO. From Ottawa Canada, pumping out a unique style of high-energy power pop come MOTHER’S CHILDREN. The four piece got together to start a punk band in the vein of THE BOYS and TEENAGE HEAD with the pop sensibilities of THE RASPBERRIES and THE EASYBEATS, and the stomping rock n’ roll energy of T.REX and SLADE. In their two-year existence MOTHER’S CHILDREN have played backyards, birthdays, basements, bedrooms, dive bars, concert halls, cottages, parking lots, even on a boat, and have won over the hearts of local audiences with their positive attitude, and relentless love for rock n’ roll. AC4 - Now accepting pre-orders on their LP. Singer Dennis Lyxzén and bassist David Sandström–formerly of Sweden’s Refused, one of the most innovative and influential bands of the ‘90, have reunited. AC4 is clearly a hardcore band: old-school, stripped-down, and apparently minus the radical sonic tinkering and texturing of Refused.



STATUES - Now accepting pre-orders on their 3rd LP – HOLIDAY COPS. Canada is so proud of their native sons that the country erected a massive golden monument to the STATUES in the middle of their hometown and sent all cops on holiday so that the punks could dance around it singing 'Hurray Hurray! a new STATUES album saw the light of day!'
