DESCRIPTION:
This group from Matsukawa, Japan is crossing the U.S. on a "thank you" tour for the anniversary f the March 11, 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. The Consulate General at Denver booked them to perform a surprise short set at the Denver Botanic Gardens during a memorial reception to mark the anniversary. They were remarkable, very professional and accomplished for mostly young musicians. I love the "Oni," or spirits (they're not quite like Western devils, nothing satanic about them, more mischievous than anything) that are part of this song.
