保卫黄河 - Defend the yellow river - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 09, 2008
DESCRIPTION:
The Yellow River Piano concerto is a Chinese piano concerto which is arranged by the famous Chinese pianist Yin Cheng Zong. The concerto is based on the "Yellow river cantata" by Xian Xing Hai. The last movement is considered as the most famous one, in that it ends with the melody from the song "The East is Red", which was the de facto anthem of the People Republic of China during the cultural revolution in the 1960s (Wikipedia). After listening to this final movement of the concerto I decided to try playing. As Im not a professional pianist and dont have the chance to play with an orchestra I played the orchestra version on piano. What you hear in my version is both me playing the piano part and the orchestra part arranged for piano. I recorded the orchestra part for some time ago on my mp3 player, so I apologize for the bad sound quality. I also apologize for some parts where I did not catch the speed. And finally I also need to apologize for my errors. To watch a much more professional version of this please visit http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=f7xI9X8IsuE
