DESCRIPTION:
Track 5/5, from Deep Frieze (Cold Spring CSR72CD).

The calm before the storm.

You can see it, unavoidably approaching like a deadly army, guiding you to the end you always knew. A tornado of white snow, covering the sky and opening his giant mouth in front of you, ready to devour not only your body, but your soul too.

You know you can't make it this time, you barely passed through the first wave of blizzard yesterday, and you were full of energy when you started to wander in this desolated land. But now, you're freezing, your muscles can not carry you anymore and your even mind can not convince you that you will make it. Each part of your body admits the defeat against nature, and rather than trying to go in the white monster, you decide to spend your last minutes where you are.

You sit on your empty backpack and look in the sky. Even if there is a fog in the air, you can still see a bit the southern lights. You enjoy it as you will never see any color again. And you enjoy the last drops of silence before the wind fills your head, exhaling continuously in your face.

And here it is. Erasing the last rays of green lights with its fog, the white beast starts its dinner. You're so cold that the wind doesn't hurt you anymore, neither do the cold.
All your memories are passing before your eyes, you regret to not have done more things in your life. But you guess that at any age, you'd think the same if you were on the edge of your imminent death.

A gust of wind is stronger than the others and makes you fall back in the snow. You don't even have the force to sit again. It's a matter of seconds before you lose consciousness, a matter of minutes before the storm covers you entire body with a layer of snow. No one will ever find you here, dead or alive. A speck of dust in the immensity of the South Pole, except that the wind won't carry you far away.

Blackout.

Enjoy folks, and if you feel like it, I'd like you to share your sensations too, here in the comments section or on my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/adda.ambient
