DESCRIPTION:
Starting in 1993, while still in high school, LOKEE became a serious threat on the local New Orleans battle rap and talent show scenes. In addition to being a capable d.j.and producer, known for his eclectic blend of analog drums and live instruments, he soon became a highly sought after "ghost-writer", earning the alter ego moniker "Space Ghost". He is single handedly responsible for many regional and local hits throughout the early to mid-90's. In 1995,after a stellar performance on the classic CHEEKY BLACK LP "LET ME GET DAT OUT CHA", he secured an album deal with TOMBSTONE RECORDS. That led to the warmly received "I GOT DIS" EP. And the now classic LP "VOODOO GANGSTA FUNK", which included the BILLBOARD charting classic "TORTURE" and the underground classic collaboration "WEED FEINDS, DOPE FEINDS AND COKE FEINDS", which featured the late great SOLJA SLIM; a mentor and very close friend of the artist. After being added to several major tours as an opening act, TOMBSTONE RECORDS dissolved upon the untimely demise of the, then CEO, Elton Wicker. Courted by many labels, including, TOMMY BOY and the southern rap powerhouse NO LIMIT, LOKEE chose to go the indie route. Unfortunately, LOKEE was as troubled as he was talented. He began encoring many bouts with the law while at the same time, dominating the local battle rap circuit. Then inevitably, in December 2001, he was arrested for several serious offenses and sentenced to 10 years of hard labor in the Louisiana Correctional System. He was released June 14, 2011 and immediately began recording. He also founded CRAZY 88 MUZIK GROUP. Known for his lyrical prowess, unorthodoxed cadence and interstellar-galactic wordplay, he soon emerged with a new album and mix tape series; "CUT ME IN.. OR CUT IT OUT!", for his ravenous fan base to salivate over. Now, more determined and focused than ever, this charismatic and lascivious young man is a true contender for the rap throne; not that he cares...
