Deafness is something which normal people like us cant understand and feel. Children, deaf since birth, cant learn to speak and hence remain dumb too. Its a challange to educate and train them to bring into the mainstream. Poverty, lack of awareness and will often forces such children to grow up and lead lives like animals. We need special schools, specially trained teachers and facilities to educate and train such children. There are a number of such schools in India but the general condition is not encouraging. The neglect from the government and society both is there, though understandable. Untiring efforts of few NGOs and committed people is enabling such institutions to run. This video is from 'Badhir Vidyalaya, Ajmer' or 'School for the deaf, Ajmer'. After successfully serving the deaf over a few decades, this school is now struggling for survival.In this video, you can see students learning to speak.
