An early DC Fontana line up recorded this beautiful soul ballad before they discovered their own sound & vibe.
This live demo recording of the heartbreakingly cool Roosevelt Jamison-penned nugget features long time DC mate & occasional guest vocalist "Little" Dave Manning handling the lead parts while Swedish based singer Wendy Skoglund added the counterpart vocals..
Recorded 18 months before the group camped out at Liverpool''s famous Parr Street studios to create 'Six Against Eight,' this recording shows the band stripped-back & sensitive.
Manning's aching, nay brilliant, vocal delivery hints at Steve Marriott's version of the tune that he recorded with Humble Pie as opposed to the more familiar Otis Redding hit from 1965.
His vocals were recorded in a Tamworth living room underneath a cuckoo clock while the rest of the band's instrumentation was laid down in a working men's club around the corner with people throwing darts in the background.
Humble & beautiful.

The recording provides a fascinating reference to the R&B roots of a group that has since evolved into a wholly different sounding outfit
