My friend Carl gave me this bike. It wouldn't roll outside of neutral and the kick starter was frozen. After tearing into it, I found out that the piston was seized. It took many many hours to break loose and a lot of PB Blaster and hammering. I sent the cylinder off to a machine shop and had them rebore and replate the cylinder. Threw on a new piston, rings, all new bearings, oil seals and a new clutch. The crankshaft was too far gone and a rebuild would have be almost as much as a new one. Kawi had them on backorder so I had to wait three long weeks for it. Once it arrived, I got everything back together and was ready to ride, so I thought.
