Headin' For The Sunset - David Hughes - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 13, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
Another original song I wrote in the summer of 2013.. LYRCS:

Even trees look cold in this barren place
Sun’s gone shy, he hides his face
Feel like an angel that’s fallen from grace
Wanna disappear without a trace
Even trees look cold in this barren place

Eyes always closed in this one horse town
Smile’s gone out of fashion people here wear a frown
He takes an odd hot whiskey, his sorrows to drown
He dreams of golden jewels, and of a Persian gown
Eyes always closed in this one horse town

Way out here in no-nowhere they can’t hear you shout
Not that folks have very much to shout about
It’s the twilight zone here, without the shadow of a doubt,
We’re upside down and inside out
Way out here in no-nowhere they can’t hear you shout

Like the voice of the Gods I hear my future call
Over oceans miles away, through many a wall
I’m headin’ for the sunset, got no time to stall
Nothin’ here to stay for, I’ve seen it all
Like the voice of the Gods I hear my future call

One day I might return to see my roots,
When I’m finished working, I’ll hang my boots,
Hear the same old lies, and see the old home truths
Pass my life’s experience and wisdom to the youths
One day I might return to see my roots,

Even trees look cold in this barren place
Sun’s gone shy, he hides his face
Feel like an angel that’s fallen from grace
Wanna disappear without a trace
Even trees look cold in this barren place...

Hope you all enjoy! All the best, from Davey..
