2008 has been another amazing year for the enigmatic Gaz West aka Dark By Design. With a production schedule out shining the majority of his peers and the tag of the ‘best remixer & undoubtedly one of the biggest producers in Hard Dance/UK Hardstyle’ it is easy to see why his bookings are through the roof

Gaz is booked in and has already played at some of the highest profile and best respected nights globally this year already including, Defqon1, Dancevalley, Goodgreef, Tidy, Insomnia 2008 in Vancouver, The Hard Dance Awards, Ministry Of Sound in Singapore, multiple tour dates in Australia, Tidy Weekender 15, Slammin’ Vinyl Festival to name but a few.

2009 sees repeat tours in Australia, Canada, USA as well as Sweden debut at the infamous Monday Bar Cruise, British festivals Parklife Scotland, Planet Love Ireland & Creamfields UK, Atomik Weekender, Kiddfectious, HTID & Raverbaby debuts amongst others.

With an ever increasing in demand dj diary it can sometimes prove difficult to spend the adequate amount of time in the studio but Gaz managed to balance both brilliantly and to a devastating effect his latest mixed album ‘Heaven & Hell’ released in November featuring all his productions alongside a mix cd from studio partner Phil York. This compilation was well received & gained the ‘album of the month’ accolade in leading dance magazine ‘Mixmag’.

Gaz’s label ‘Dark by Design Recordings’ has set a very high standard for the harder sounds over the past 3 years putting out anthems such as ‘Techno Terror’, ‘The Rotten Egg’, ‘Insomniak’ & ‘Good Life’ all in 2008. All tracks picking up plays from all of the hard dance Elite, and on both Radio One & Kiss FM, as well as featuring on numerous compilations around the world!

If this wasn’t enough his recently established sister label ‘Dark by Design breakthrough’ gives up and coming talents the chance to shine collaborating with Gaz and releasing E.P’s on this label set up for the next generation.

Living up to his title of ‘Remixer of the year’ Gaz has added his magic touch to transform huge tracks such as Alex Kidd vs. Organ Donors’ ‘Muzik’, Prodigy’s ‘No Good’, as well as his recent remix of Lisa Lashes & BK’s ‘Has It Come 2 This?’ alongside Phil York.

With an increased release schedule planned for 2009 expect to hear the likes of ‘Bad Guy, ‘Ace’s High’ and ‘Bad Habit’ smashing up clubs very soon, along with a new solo artist album ‘Diary of a madman’ planned for the end of 2009 and many exciting collaborations planned, this is certainly going to be year when the dark takes over!

Come live in the Dark but Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
