Michael "Dap" Daniel, was raised in Richmond, CA., by way of Martinez, CA, on notorious 6th St. Dap began cultivating his flow at age 11, and by 16 was entering the studio to record his first song as an artist.
Solidifying his passion for music at a young age, Dap, was hooked on music for life. He found an outlet for the frustration that a destructive parent hooked on drugs created in his world.
In the early 90's, with some peers trying to deal with the same situations, Dap, along with 5 childhood friends; Al West, Hustle Simmons, Flii Stylz, Harold "Ace" Mason, & Maurice "Mo" Thomas- R.I.P, formed a brotherhood called the "Brohydes." After several years of synergistic group projects, individual commitments led the Broz down seperate paths.
With the Brohydes working on solo projects, Dap Daniel went on to form other collaborative musical alliances, which included, F.E. (F*ck Everybody) - Mr. Kee and Dutch, Dread Noughts, and the Gylatean. The Brohydes continue to thrive in 2009 and have grown to include other talented artists such as D. Ross, Erase- E, Phats, Ez- Up, & Kleck.
Focused on challenging his musical abilities, Dap once again teamed up with Brohydes member Flii Stylz to lay tracks on Lion's Gate Motion Picture, RIZE and a documentary for racing enthusiasts Drift: The Sideways Craze
Dap Daniel’s current projects include his 2010 CD release, “Theme Music,” with distribution through Universal, backed by Realizeme Records.
“Theme Music,” has several salutes to Dap’s home-town of Richmond and features Dap’s multifaceted sound of hood, rock, and ballads delivering in songs such as “This Is Richmond,” “California Rocks” and “She Is” respectively.
