LYRICS

The sun comes up on the land of red dirt
The land where the black man done the legwork
This is dedicated to the years of pain
Collarenebri Crew come change the game.

Colli Crew’s back with a new track for ya.
Way up north up on the QLD border
Learning those lessons from the very first bora
The fact is we ain’t no flora and fauna

The Colli Crew’s black with a new track
Survived invasion, segregation and the act
Almost taken but it’s coming back
Change comes from you, from me, from us and that’s fact.

On Australia Day we celebrate the invasion.
Claiming Terra Nullius all over the nation
Disease, Myall Creek, that dislocation
Kamileroi people - here since creation

That’s him my ‘lation - there’s truth in my words.
Mobs rounded up, forced onto reserves.
Stolen from your family, taken away to school
No rights, can’t go to restaurants or the pool.

It’s a new track
Those true facts
It’s a new age
React.

Look up
Don’t look back
Because the next step
Is up to us

Colli Crew’s back with a new track for ya.
Way up north up on the QLD border
Learning those lessons from the very first bora
The fact is we ain’t no flora and fauna

The Colli Crew’s black with a new track
Survived invasion, segregation and the act
Almost taken but it’s coming back
Change comes from you, from me, from us and that’s fact.

We had Cooper, Patton, those freedom fighters.
1965 - those Freedom Riders
Change came running’, they exposed the failure
To bring a new dawn all over Australia

1967 that recognition.
That citizenship for the mob on the mission
Stopped needing permission - got paid for workin’.
Shout outs to Mabo and Charlie Perkins

So we’ve come a long way - there’s a long way yet.
So look to the future but never forget
Get ready, get set, the real test is now
If you’re looking for change, the next step is OURS

“No way, welfare ain’t gunna rule me”
Them old fellas fought hard for these opportunities
Take responsibility - step up and step out
Make very single one of our people proud.
