Danny Seraphine is one of the world's most highly-respected rock drummers, ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the top drummers of all time. He was an architect and original drummer for the multi-million selling, Grammy award winning band Chicago. From 1967 to 1990, Seraphine played on and helped produce 18 Gold and 13 Platinum albums, 50 Top 40 hits, including 20 Top 10 singles, and 5 number ones.
Danny's innovative integration of jazz chops with a rock feel and arrangements has been cited as a major influence in many of today's great drummers. Simply put: Danny Seraphine is one of the greatest drummers of all time.
In 2005 Danny received a call from guitarist/composer Marc Bonilla to perform some of the classic Chicago songs at a benefit concert. The chemistry was undeniable and the pair teamed up to form California Transit Authority. Along with band members- six time Emmy winner and keyboardist Peter hits the road this summer with his all-star band. CTA satisfies both lifelong Chicago fans and new listeners with original songs and solid jazz-rock classics.
Danny Seraphine recently released his autobiography "Street Player - My Chicago Story, which chronicles his life from his troubled youth on the streets of Chicago through his years in one of the most successful rock bands in American history to his resurgence into the music world with his current band, California Transit Authority.
Danny's DVD, "The Art of Jazz Rock Drumming" DVD showcases Seraphine's most famous grooves and fills that defined Chicago's sound and inspired generations of devoted fans.
