THE DARRYL READ GROUP, Put together with Charlie Harty and Steve Forest --- were the second proto punk outfit (after Crushed Butler) --- before the Pistols came in. Granny Glasses wearing Nick Mobbs of EMI turned them down after hearing a great recording they made at Polydor --- claiming that it wasnt Funky enough; before he signed the Sex Pistols 6 Months later.
