"The Secret in the Garden is a collection of original songs that I have been performing as a working musician in the local Philly scene for the last 5 to 10 years. The styles range from gentle folk ballads to reggae dance numbers to genuine rock and roll anthems representing the various influences I have drawn from over the years. The songs present recurring themes dealing with the struggles of relationships, growing gardens, and politics. The musicians who lent their talents to the process include Andy Keenan and Fred Berman (Amos Lee), Dean Gorfti (Hezekiah Jones), Steve Ciannavei (Rev. TJ McGlinchey) and Susan Rosetti (Slo-Mo/Stargazer Lily). Many of the basic tracking was done using my usual backing band which enabled the recordings to have a loose and live quality. Producer Andrew Lipke and I have put our hearts and a lot of work into this project and I am very proud it.
