The murder unit known as Corpus Mortale emerged from the underground of Denmark way back in 1993… initially the band was inspired by the early nineties wave of UK & US death metal. Many years were spent slowly gaining experience by playing live shows and recording demo's. The band played more than 50 shows in the years from 1993 to 1999 which along with the first three demo recordings earned Corpus Mortale quite a lot of respect in the death metal underground.
After a 50% line-up change in 1999 Brian & Lee (both former Iniquity members) joined the band. After the change the music took a different approach to the genre and the style changed a bit towards semi-technical and fast death metal compared to the pure old-school style of the early demos.
In 2003 after 10 years earning experience and perfecting the personal sound and style of Corpus Mortale - the band finally signed a record deal. Neurotic Records was the label and the debut album "With Lewd Demeanor" was released in November 2003. Shortly after the release of the album the band went on their first European tour along with fellow Danes Konkhra & Illnath with Homo Iratus from Greece opening.
The following years a lot of shows were played to support the album and new territories as Holland and Greece was invaded.
In late 2004, after another line-up split bringing Roar & Mads (ex-Iniquity, Swollen, Strangler etc.) into the band, new material was released in form of the "Seize the Moment of Murder" 7-inch vinyl Ep manufactured and released by the acclaimed Greek underground label Nuclear Winter Records. Shortly after the release of the Ep the band recorded their second full-length entitled "A New Species of Deviant" which was released through Willowtip Records in North America in November 2007. Due to various reasons the rest of the world had to wait until February 2008 when Neurotic Records released the album in all other territories.
In late 2008 the band was yet again split in half and new members were recruited. Rasmus (also in The Omnihil) replaced Nicholas on the drums and guitar player Andreas (also in The Cleansing) joined in place of Roar.
Arisen with new strength and the most competent line-up ever the band went on an extensive +50 date's promotional campaign spanning from 2008 to 2010 including a 25 date European tour opening for Nile, Krisiun & Grave.
After the very successful string of shows the band went in writing mode thus most of 2010 was concentrated on writing the third full-length album.
The album which has been entitled "FleshCraft" contains ten songs of competent death metal with authentic lyrics describing the methods, the minds, the murders and the mayhem of serial killers. Recorded and mixed at the world famous AntFarm/ JBOSound studios (The Haunted, Vader, Kataklysm, Pestilence etc.) by the up-coming sound prodigy Jacob Olsen (Panzerchrist Crocell a.o.) has resulted in the most massive yet honest production to date. No beat detective, no triggers, no excessive editing – no fucking compromise!
This album contains nothing more than the core of what Corpus Mortale stands for – which is pure authentic death metal delivered with authority and without compromise. The music is performed by skilled and extremely experienced musicians who provide the audience with a quality listening experience.
This is death metal the way it was meant to be – MURDER; DEATH; RAPE…
