DESCRIPTION:
"Canzoni di Arnulf" was inspired by the works of Arnulf Rainer. He often used a certain technique called overpainting. It means that the artist repaints, redraws, scratches or partly covers with doodle the reproduction of his own photo or that of a famous piece of art. These pieces of "doodle" are very nicely composed; they draw attention or cover certain parts of the background. I also aimed to do something similar in music or in concert-situation. The background is a montage that I created from The Tales of Hoffmann by Offenbach and the musical and theatrical material happening over it represents the attitude of somebody riding in a car, listening to some music, and singing along. This is what I used as doodle that covers or shows certain parts of the background material."
