Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin started out as a group of college kids in Australia who were elevated to fame through YouTube. They toured with One Direction for years, earning themselves a loyal fanbase. Their first single “Gotta Get Out” off Unplugged shot to #3 on the iTunes chart without any advertising! That success continued with their EP Somewhere New and their massive worldwide hit “Out Of My Limit”, which Niall Horan of 1D loved so much he tweeted it out! 5SOS even started their own fan convention called DerpCon.
