Clairvoyants boost a 10-years history, with a rich curriculum. The band from Como started in 2001 as a tribute to the most emblematic band of the metal scene: Iron Maiden. Right since the beginning, the live shows of the band drew an unusually good response in terms of number of attenders, growing steadily through the years until Clairvoyants became a permanent feature of the best Italian rock clubs and venues. Clairvoyants regularly play in well-known Italian live music venues like Live Club or Alcatraz (only to mention some), and their shows always leave a mark; but the five-piece also trod with energy and strength the stages of Bulgaria, Germany, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
The band also performed with many worldwide famous heavy metal superstars like Andre Matos, Timo Kotipelto, David DeFeis, Edward Pursino, DORO, Blaze Bayley and Dennis Stratton.
The year 2007 is a turning point for the band: slowly at first, then with increasing belief and concreteness, the guys follow their own instincts and begin composing the songs which will constitute their debut album. In 2009 the first record "Word to the Wise" is printed by Valery Records, distributed in Italy by Frontiers and worldwide by other companies. During the next two years, while continuing to play also as a tribute band, Clairvoyants tour to promote the album, which boosts the participation of Andre Matos (ex-Angra, Symfonia) and Oliver Palotai (DORO, Kamelot) as guest musicians. The critics praise the album in the two years following its release: both in Italy and abroad, the best part of the 300 and more reviews are positive, in some cases even enthusiastic. Particularly significant is the excellent review on the famous Japanese BURNN magazine (many people consider it the "Bible" of rock and metal), and the presentation of the album made by Bruce Dickinson (current Maiden singer) during his Friday Rock Show on the English BBC radio channel. The band performed in some prominent shows to promote the debut album, like the Rockin Field Festival with Avantasia and Helloween, the I-Metal Festival in Milan, and opening shows for Gotthard and DORO.
"The Shape of Things to Come", the band's second album, was released in Italy on February 27th 2012 by Valery Recorsds / Frontiers, while the European release is scheduled for July 27th under German agency Rough Trade. This, along with the releases already confirmed (Avispa for Spain and Cargo Records for the UK), will ensure a detailed distribution of "The Shape Of Things To Come" in the whole European continent.
During March and April 2012 the band held a promotional tour in the best Italian venues consisting of 11 gigs, (playing in Live Club, Alcatraz, Tempo Rock, Urban Club), and will conclude this first part of the tour with two important concerts: they will take part in the 2012 edition of Gods of Metal festival, and they will support Jon Oliva's Pain in their one and only Italian gig.
The band's line-up, unchanged since the release of "Word to the Wise", is Gabriele Bernasconi on the vocals, Paolo Turcatti on bass guitar, Luca Princiotta on lead guitar (also with DORO since 2006), Marco Demartini on guitar and Manuel Pisano on the drums.
