All scenes from Boardwalk Empire S04E05 "Erlkönig". I do not own the material - it is simply a homage to the direction of the "Erlkönig" episode.

Throughout the episode we are forced to focus on the emotions of our characters as they are often portrayed alone, and in most cases sitting. The spotlight is put on each of our characters as solo shots whether they are in dialoge or not. SCATTERed situations and thoughts are often circling them as the background imagery oftne symbolizes here. I immediately thought of SITstill and the overall theme of DOWNtime when seeing this episode and wanted to pay homage to both. Though often sitting, as simple as it (and each scene) seems, often there is so much more sitting with us.

DOWNtime =

When I heard Duque's ability to create an overall '90's feel' using new aged sounds, techniques, and mixing I INSTANTLY started to work. Our first song together, 'Sit Still', was recorded within a few hours of me receiving the instrumental. I remember writing the first verse while running errands, and writing the second verse while doing push-ups in my house. This is what DOWN TIME is for me. Though I thoroughly "appreciate the times I get to SIT STILL" - there aren't many. Down Time is far from a literal term in this sense -- it represents keeping a focused mind state while dealing with a busy work schedule. A perfect balance of life. Being calm in a state of chaos, being aware in a state of confusion, being focused on your inner peace -- this is Down Time. The Intro track "Scatterbrain" sums up the theme perfectly "...Scatterbrain, Scatterbrain, it's only Sunday but I'm wishing it was Saturday no way to rewind/It's perfectly fine, 'cuz even though my week is so hectic, I'm restin, its always Saturday in my mind/this is Down Time..."

Much thought was put into every part of this project - the cover, the back cover, the titles, the mixing, all are very meaningful and partake in the overall theme of 'DownTime". This is an album that will be well worth the analyzing AND the over-analyzing.
