Bude 2012 Jazz Festival -- Chris Pearce's Frenchmen Street Jazz Band playing Maryland & Sweet Sue - Video

DESCRIPTION:
The 2012 Bude Jazz Festival, August 28 - 31, was excellent! It featured more than 35 bands plus individual performers at many venues in Bude, southwest England -- a very small nice town on the coast with beaches. Most of the music was traditional jazz plus some swing, especially for the dancing venue. This video is of Chris Pearce's Frenchmen Street Jazz Band (http://www.chrispearcesfsjb.co.uk), playing 2 songs, Maryland, My Maryland (the official Maryland State Anthem, a.k.a. -- with different words -- O Tannenbaum), and Sweet Sue. These are significant to us since my wife & I flew over from Maryland, USA, for the festival, and her name is Sue! The band members are Chris Pearce -- reeds, Tony Davis -- trumpet, Richard Leach -- trombone, Phil Probert -- banjo, Tony Sharp - bass, & Graham Smith -- drums. -- and the good news is that the Bude Festival organizers are planning for another festival next year, August 27 -- 30, 2013 (http://www.jazzfestivalbude.co.uk). Video by Bill Schneider.
