Lost the place and time
a desert can be kind
to step outside your mind
Things that are old can be new,
and that dirt that's in your mouth, won't get easier to chew
So spit on the ground as you do,
and free those tunneling worms that ya keep for diggin through
The dried out soil of our thoughts it won't renew
if there's no coming rain to wash away untruths
So lay it on the line in full view,
to reconcile that inner child so close to breaking through

Try to understand
the shifting sands of desert lands
endless skies that fool the eyes so we can't recognize
What can hide in open range, the blowing wind did rearrange
made it all a guessing game, nothing stays the same,
except the constant sea of change

Cross the Salton sea, unsteady on one knee, a lake not meant to be
Alter up your path to some degree
watch rivers flow beyond control to fill the ancienct sea
And as the ghosts of our past will intervene
with unintended consequence so clearly unforseen
We all tire of predictable routine, let's all get lost along
diversion in between
