Brandi Wells
(May 13, 1955 -- March 25, 2003)

Was an American R&B singer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Born Marguerite J. Pinder in Chester, She first appeared professionally in the group the Twilights while still at school.

Those recordings were for the Harathon label (at the age of 9), on the songs 'Shipwreck' and 'It's Been So Long'.

Another member of the band was Ellis Hall.

In 1972, she left to join Major Harris's backing singers Brown Sugar.

A year later she formed Breeze, who backed acts such as Billy Paul, Fat Larry and Philly Cream (a.k.a. Ingram), as well as recording in their own right on the WMOT label.

Breeze then evolved into Slick who had a UK Top 20 hit 'Space Bass' in 1979 and then hit with 'Sexy Cream' shortly afterwards.

She also sang the song 'Sunrise' for the group in 1980.
A second album '21st Century Fox' was released on the Omni label in 1985.

Brandi joined WM0T as a soloist in 1981 and with an all-star line-up of musicians that included Thom Bell, Dexter Wansel, Nick Martinelli and Michael Pedicin Jnr., recorded her debut 'Watch Out'.

Her debut album, Watch Out, appeared in 1981 on Fantasy Records and reached #37 on the US Billboard R&B chart.The title track charted at #27 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and #16 on the US Hot Dance Club Songs chart.

It also peaked at #74 in the UK Singles Chart in February 1982.
Brandi was married to Terry Price......Brandi Wells died in Chester, Pennsylvania, on the 25th March 2003 of breast cancer, at the age of 47.....Funeral services were held on Friday 4th April, 2003 at 12 noon at the First Pentecostal Holy Church, 324 Pusey Street in Chester, Pennsylvania.......
