Fox 25 aired a story about Brigham & Women's Hospital nurses fighting for improved security. Dr. Michael Davidson’s shooting death at the Brigham one year ago illuminated security shortfalls at the hospital that BWH and Partners HealthCare are not addressing. Repeated violent incidents against nurses since last January have increased their concerns, and the nurses have brought a set of comprehensive security proposals to the bargaining table with the help of a former Boston police chief, Dan Linskey. Until state lawmakers require all Massachusetts hospitals to implement effective workplace violence initiatives, as proposed by the MNA, Brigham nurses will continue to fight for the safety of their hospital.
