Hannah Cherry will be touring with John Hanlon this year, dates to be announced. Winner of singer song writer competition in Wellington Megan Glue will support them for Wellington Date. True fans of John will know he was a founding New Zealand singer song writer, whom was highly acclaimed, winning Record Awards during the mid 70s collecting Album of Year and Songwriter of the Year awards three years in a row. We have been on a break with the busy lives and changes this year and have not played the circuit too much! Fans you are dearly missed, keep tuned into future developments as the music grows and changes over the years we want to delight your ears minds and souls!



A lot of new material has been written around the piano in the last two years and you will see a development of electronic music and more collaborations. to come!



A feature of 2009 was a brilliant show at Happy! Cherry's Gemstones colab with Pete Copeland (Thought Creature - Drums), Jonny Bongo (Kitten Tank and The Users - Guitar), Shona Lindsay (too amazing for words - Vocals), Hannah Cherry (Keys and Vocals), Noel (Cricket percussion player). This show also featured John the Baptist and Dallas and the Mannequins!



Hannah Cherry is currently working with Adam Ring on an ambient alt country sound. Performing twice at Bodega venue in April 2010 including Thursday the 9th April, which was also the open of the new Zeal youth location upstairs to housing the Wellington School of Rock. Post touring in February and March 2008 the groups main focus has been developing material for a debut album. The demo and selection process is under way and their is a lot of excitement about the diversity and range of songs. Mums the word mainly on this one, but you can look forward to something very different and nothing less than refined blood sweat and tears revealing something fresh with poignant appeal.



In 2007 Cherry's Gemstones performed at The Wellington and Auckland City art galleries as well as the Cortina Fest at Wellington San fran Bath House.



In 2006 released E.P 'Love in the Dreamscape Matrix Reality' with 13 date nationwide whistle stop tour including opening for New Zeland music month launch with Dejavoodu and The Bleeders.



First formed in 2003 and have had various line up changes and colab pieces creating a quilt of creative ingenuity to be remembered.



Cherry's Gemstones music likes to give social commentary, cultivate culture, communicate emotion and soul with a lively free spirited yet also reflective approach!
