Charvel roots are firmly placed with Jackson guitars. Grover Jackson himself built some of the first Charvel guitars, he specialised in "hot-rodding" traditional guitars with high performance parts. Eventually he decided to branch off with a line of guitars that bore his own name in the late 70's, leaving Charvel to forge on with its own distinct identity of "hot-rodded" yet classy guitars used by technically proficient players the world over.
