Charter Oak PEQ1 EQ is explored in great detail in this first part video (of two). Mike Deming of CharterOak and Todd Atlas of Sound Pure Studios explore the EQ first in the control room, and then get into a discussion in the lobby. They cover the fact that this is a stereo EQ with wide overlapping bands, and has some incredible tonal capability and remarkable ease of use. With plus or minus 24 decibels in the outermost bands, the tonal coloration possibilities are incredible. While not a parametric EQ, the EQ nevertheless has remarkable control across its six bands, as well as a very special feature- the ability to booth up to 24dB at a center frequency of 50k. The possibility produces an endless top end that has the sonic signature effect of taking the blanket off of the tweeter.
