DESCRIPTION:
The foundation of the ARC Angels was laid at the Austin Rehearsal Complex (Whose initials inspired the first word of the bands moniker). There Charlie Sexton had a writing room where he was preparing for his next solo album, Doyle Bramhall II was writing and rehearsing under a development deal with Geffen Records, and Chris Layton had a drum room where he and Tommy Shannon would practice. The initial idea was for a jamming band to play around town when Stevie Ray Vaughan was off the road but nothing came of it. But after the death of Stevie Ray, the ARC Angels became a musical outlet and inspiration for all four band members.

With the release of there debut album on Geffen records the band preceded to tour for three years with appearances on David Letterman, Jay Leno and Conan OBrien. Overloaded with talent the band came to an abrupt halt, breaking up in 1994. Chris and Tommy continued on with Storyville (Another Austin success story) as Doyle and Charlie revisited there solo careers. Doyle eventually moving on to perform with Rodger Waters and than to become a member of Eric Claptons touring band. While Charlie spent five years on the road with Bob Dylan.

A decade later after headlining the Austin City Limits Festival in Austin the ARC Angels have decided to reunite, release a new Live CD/DVD, tour extensively and ultimately record a new full length studio album in 2009.
