---------------------------------------------------------------

Charlie Campari came to life in a euphoric shroom trip on a sunny Roskilde festival in the start noughties and for a while moved around in the frenetic borderland between underground and establishment of the Copenhagen club scene. The musical style was a anarchistic and parodical mash-up of trendy house names and kitschy pop tunes.

As the parody grew empty, the bottomless pit of the heroin scene pulled down the man behind the music and Charlie Campari only reconstituted in his current incarnation - after several overdoses and a couple of temporary deaths - in a bed on the 13th floor of the National Hospital, the music serving as the merciful mid-wife of his rebirth.

The music has degenerated to a battered batch of discordant lo-fi and left-hand anti-folk while the lyrical tragicomic adventures of underworld monsters shamelessly admits to stealing from both Lou Reed, Beck, Wavves and Suicide.

The video for the first single "Monkey King" was shot in Los Angeles in collaboration with renowned director and video artist Karim Ghahwagi, among others known for prior works with danish musicians Efterklang and Trentemøller.
