local bar on the edge of town
I had a few too many
hell I lost count
the whiskey man said I owed him some
I pulled out what I had
but it wasn't enough
he got mad and climbed the wall
threw me out
in front of them all
I said my names jack and I'll be back
with enough to go around
so buddy write it down
and nail it to the pole
I ain't got a dime
in my dollar hole
factory's gone took my home
I've been in and out of anywhere
and all alone
Ive been cold I've worked for food
ain't no pride at the bottom
of write-off soup
but I ain't mad
I stay in stride
I guess lucky just to have a life
my names jack and I'll be back
with enough to go around
so buddy write it down
and nail it to the pole
I got a scratch off ticket
to a dollar hole
america freedom to choose
everything must go
how can I lose
my names jack and I'll be back
with enough to go around
so you can write it down
and nail it to the pole
I'll die flatfooted in this dollar hole
