About "SPLIT THE ATOM AGAIN"
It’s time for a change.
Casanatra aims to raise the artistic standards for recording artists with the release of their fourth full length album, “Split The Atom Again”, by putting forth a body of work that inspires and challenges listeners rather than coddling them with sub-standard formulaic drivel.
By adding a fourth member to the Casanatra recipe, Brett Johnson former bassist for the hip-hop group Atmosphere, Casanatra has opened the door to a whole new set of flavors and textures beautifully captured on this record.
“Split The Atom Again” showcases inspired rock n’ roll infused with funk, hip-hop, and jazz elements coupled with lyrics from the soul outlining the working man’s struggle while calling out the sheep to wake up and look at the world with honest eyes.
The bar has been raised.
BIOGRAPHY:
Casanatra came to be in early 2002 when Lance Reed, Jer Fink and Dennis Asher found themselves without any commitments and a desire to spend the most time possible in musical telepathy with each other. Each brought a part of their past endeavors to create a sound that was forged in rock, but injected with elements of almost every musical style. The goal was to write songs that were individually unique while owning the common thread of big guitars and monstrous drumming.
Synchronicity brought them together and the pure love of playing has cemented a musical bond that holds tight after 4 releases: "Is This Tonight", "Wood and Glass", "Primo Impacto", "Death Ride", and their upcoming 2010 release "Split The Atom Again" which is a rebirth of sorts for the band. New producer, Jeff Halland of Houston fame. New songwriting approach, short punchy and powerful. New haircutsand so on.
Adventurous and accessible, Casanatra created a record that lives up to the sum of their parts, they've discovered the secret formula and they aren't giving it away, but they'll always invite you in for a drink and a listen.
Now with the 2009 addition of bass player extrordinaire Brett Johnson (Atmosphere, Kingfield) Casanatra is changing the rules in the middle of the game and continuing a tradition of keeping their beloved listeners on their toes.
