Carl Wilson was the lead guitarist of The Beach Boys from 1961 until his passing in 1998. Carl was also the lead vocalist on many Beach Boys' songs including "Good Vibrations", "God Only Knows", and "I Can Hear Music".

"Heaven" was written by Carl Wilson, Myrna Smith, and Michael Sun. It was recorded for Carl's first solo album, Carl Wilson, which was released on March 27, 1981. "Heaven" was also released as a single in April 1981.
