Carlo Fimiani was born in Castel San Giorgio, Southern Italy, September 1st, 1968. He has been awarded the Diploma with Honours by the C.P.M: in Milan and the Diploma with Honours by the prestigious G.I.T. in Los Angeles. Here Carlo plays and studies with his six strings idols Scott Henderson, Joe Diorio, Brett Garsed, T.J. Helmerich and many more. Here he also attends various concerts-workshops by Frank Gambale, Mike Stern, Steve Vai, Ritchie Kotzen, Vinnie Moore, Blues Saraceno… In 1995 he received the second-place award at the European Award Competition Prix de l’Europe for Rock and Fusion Guitarists “La nuit de la guitarre” in Lausanne, Switzerland. During his prestigious career he played with Michele Zarrillo (1993-1994), Tullio De Piscopo (2001), pop as well as jazz, Ornella Vanoni and Gino Paoli (live CD and DVD 2005) he has also been performing in different TV shows with Tiziano Ferro, Mino Reitano, Nino D’Angelo, etc.

In 2004, together with the famous cellist Marc Johnson, he performed with the Marco Zurzolo’s quartet at the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Umbria Jazz Festival, the Pomigliano Jazz Festival, the Ischia Jazz Festival and at many more other important jazz festivals. He also performed, together again with Marco Zurzolo, at the prestigious jazz club Blue Note in New York and at the Spoleto USA festival in Charleston (South Carolina). He has played together with Dario Deidda, Alfonso deidda, Fabrizio Bosso, Paolo Pelella, Guglielmo Guglielmi, Tommaso Scannapieco, Antonio De Luise, Gaetano Fasano, Alessandro La Corte, Vittorio Riva, Joe Amoruso, Rocco Salzano, etc.

He has been a columnist for AXE since 2000, where he in addition has recently published an instructional column. The magazine Chitarre published in 2005 an interview regarding his activity as a tour guitarist. The Italian magazine CM2 has published three of his instructional videos on electric, acoustic and classic guitar recording techniques.

Carlo has played in studio for Sister Sledge, Hata (the soundtrack for the movie “ Aprile” by Nanni Moretti), Rocco De Rosa (soundtrack for the movie “La vita è un’altra volta” with Jo Champa), and for various new young talents productions. He is endorser for the Elixir strings and for the Masotti Amplification. In year 2000 he released his first instrumental jazz-rock CD “ Alter Ego”, whose track “Maple Top” has been included into Walter Callonis Cd “Collection”. It is now due to release his new CD “Too Early” with the participation of musicians like Gavin Harrison, Walter Calloni, Dario Deidda and Vittorio Riva.
