Capitol Thrill - Live Practice Session - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Sorry Quake fans, no Quake in this video!

Capitol Thrill (Shane Leopard, John Parker, Sam "EVOL" Meacham) is getting ready to record an 11 song full length album. On their own. At Studio Evol (aka Sam's basement).

This is a full practice session recorded live with some of our new equipment.
We have 2 Studio Project C1 mics for the drum overheads, an SM57 on the top of the snare, and an AKG D112 on the kick drum. SM58s for vocals, and SM57s on the guitar and bass cabs. 8 channels total. 4 going into a nice Focusrite 4 channel mic pre, the other 4 straight into the M-Audio 2626 FW Pro interface. All recorded live, no edits, no overdubs, no punch ins. Sounds AMAZING for a live recording. We play excellent equipment as well. Shane plays through a Badcat 50 watt tube head through a killer 4x12 Vox cab. Sam (EVOL) usually plays through a very excellent Orange Terror Bass head, but it recently exploded, and I'm waiting on replacement parts. This was unfortunately recorded with some shitty loaner that doesn't even have half the bass tone I'm used to. Still playing through my Avatar 4x10 cab with custom Eminence Deltalites.

Our recent show at Studio Seven in Seattle has us feeling very inspired and motivated. Shit is sounding good......we're going to start tracking this record for real in just a few weeks. Stay tuned!
