DESCRIPTION:
It is important that the speaker system used for surround sound is properly calibrated. The concept is to use pink noise at a standard -20dBFS signal level to calibrate a specific loudness from each speaker channel using the SPL meter. Each speaker channel must output the same volume so that imaging in the surround listening area is correct. Also the overall loudness of the system should be set at a specific level determined by the type of mixing being performed.
