The 68th release on Eelke Kleijn's Outside The Box Music imprint sees the debut of David Chong on the label. David hails from Paris, France but currently resides in Thailand. David's discography includes appearances on quite a few labels but most notable the always cool Asymmetric Records where he has no less than 7 appearances. David's debut EP for Outside The Box is entitled 'On Your Way To Heaven' and it comes with his two most recent studio creations. The title cut leads the EP off with some lovely melodies, warm flowing walls of sub bass, clattering drums and some really infectious synth hooks. The track progresses smoothly through several transitions with new ideas and sounds coming to the forefront. The smoothness and effortless quality of it is what's so remarkable, just a pleasure to listen to and great for a late night dance floor as well.
The companion piece 'Corsican Brothers' begins with some glitchy sounding electronics and a prominent stab that builds some nice tension early on. A tough punchy kick along with another smooth flowing wall of low end frequencies soon drops in along with a cool vocal hook and a sequence of soft stabs with some very cool effects mods. As the track approaches the drop a moody set of soft chords then gets introduced which just adds to the already amazing atmosphere the piece carries.
