CAE (pronounced Kay) wants to make music that provokes the mind and feeds the soul. Drawing on a variety of influences, ranging from the literary works of Toni Morrison and Léonora Miano as well as her personal struggles, this up-and- coming Franco-Haitian singer-songwriter is winning over audiences and earning rave reviews on the Paris music scene.

With such a background, the harmonious mixture of influences to be found in her music where soul, folk, jazz and World music converge, is only natural."



Cae honed her skills as a jazz performer at the Paris Conservatory and at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she was awarded a prestigious Fulbright scholarship as Well as a Berklee College of Music scholarship and played along the likes of Esperanza Spalding or Nikki Glaspie



Seduced and enthused by her musicality and voice Folk Blues Sony BMG artist Tété hires her for his 3rd international tour «Le sacre des Lemming» from 2006 to 2008, she can also be seen along side Australian guitar virtuoso Jeff Lang and Blue Note up and coming artist Zahra Hindi.
A polished technical performer, Cae moved on to explore more eclectic ways of making music, resulting in an impressive oeuvre of works featured in her debute E.P. to be released on The 17th of May 2010.



The self-produced 7 track debut E.P.entitled "Daughter of the dust" as a tribute to filmmaker Julie Dash' masterpiece on African American folk traditions was recorded at vintage "Chicken Cottage" sudio by folk magnate producer Samy Osta (Domingo/Thrid Side Records) and mixed by renowned producer Bénédicte SCHMITT who fell in love with the project at
Labomatic Studio.
In "Daughter of the Dust" and "Goree Island" which features lAustalian Singer Songwriter Jeff lang, Cae infuses acoustic folk sounds with jazz. while French-language compositions "Speciman insolite" and "Le temps long" especially showcase her delicate vocals.
A more deliberate jazz folk atmosphere infuses «Words Keep Slippin' Away», sung with Neo Soul Advocate Shäy Mané , while «Shelter from the storm» a tribute to writer Léonora Miano's work explores a dark blues atmosphere.



The subtle tones of her work has drawn comparisons to some of her contemporary influences, including Cassandra Wilson, Lizz Wright and Les Nubians.



Daughter of the Dust, her 1st E.P., a tribute to director Julie Dashs' masterpiece, will be released on the 17th of May 2010.

Cae a exercé son talent au département Jazz du Conservatoire à Paris et a étudié en tant que boursière au Berklee College of Music à Boston, ou elle joue aux côtés de la contrebassiste/chanteuse Esperanza Spalding et de la batteuse Nikki Glaspie.
Séduit, enthousiasmé par la musicalité de sa voix, Tété l'embauche pour faire ses chœurs sur la tournée de son 3ème album « Le sacre des Lemmings » (Sony BMG) pour plus de 60 concerts à travers le monde.
Forte de sa technique et de ces expériences, elle se met à explorer de nouvelles sonorités, de nouvelles approches réunies dans une palette de compositions impressionnantes de musicalite, à la croisée des hémisphères, des atmosphères, des couleurs.



Depuis les rives de la Géorgie avec « Daughter of the Dust » inspiré par le chef d'œuvre éponyme de la réalistarice Julie Dash, où s'étreignent pop et gospel comme sur le décomplexé «My Hesitations», on passe à la nostalgie urbaine avec «Le temps long» et ses intonations blues qu'on retrouve sur «Shelter From the Storm» hommage à la romancière Léonora Miano.
Puis c'est le bush australien teinté de Sénégal, le temps d'un duo avec le bluesman Australien virtuose Jeff Lang sur l'aérien «Gorée Island».
On se laisse également caresser au détours d'une balade folk/jazz avec «Specimen Insolite» ou «Words Keep Sleepin' Away» en duo avec le chantre de la neo soul à la française Shäy Mané.
Avec en fil conducteur le velours subtil et chaleureux d'une voix singulière tant vocalement que par les texte et l'esthétique qu'elle dessine, cet E.P., mixé à merveille par Bénédicte Shmitt et Dominique Blanc-Francard qui s'éprennent du projet, révèle une musique qui stimule les esprits et nourrit l'âme.
