RASTA .. BORN IN THE GHETTO..VOICE OF THE PEOPLE ...

SPECTACULAR is a Jamaican Sing Jay, born in the ghettos in Kingston and who began his career in the mid nineties.

On Riddims Roots, New Roots or Dancehall, with his powerful gripping and husky voice, he describes social reality in Jamaica. His texts are politically and socially committed, they condemn Babylon's injustice and call for an awakening and awareness, for Peace and universal Love. For over 15 years, he has written several hits and has recorded with artists such as Jah Cure, Sizzla Luciano, Lutan Fyah, Turbulence or Natty King...

At the 1993 Sunwave in Fort Clarence, when he was only 17, Carl Reid's outstanding performance was referred to as "SPECTACULAR" by the promoter. This was to become his stage name, to which the word "BURNING" was added, alluding to the "Fyah" (fire) that radiates from his music and personality.

In 1996, he recorded his first single called "I Love this Girl" for the label Chop Chop, followed by "Melody in Your Voice" for Gargamel, Buju Banton's label, and "Push On Through", "Who Hail the Man" and "Love & Joy" produced by "Sojie" Hamilton and Dean Frazier.

Between 1997 and 2003, he performed in several shows in Jamaica, and recorded with European producers such as Ganglords, Minor7Flat5, and Germaican Records who released his first album "Find Yourself" in 2005, that includes the mighty hit "Voice of the People".

He came to Europe for the first time in 2003 for a few concerts in Switzerland, and began to be better known throughout a complete European tour in 2004 with Lutan Fyah. He captivated everyone with his charisma, his flow and his natural and warm connection to the audience.

These last few years, he toured through Europe in the sound system circle, and also in festivals and concerts, alongside live groups.
He recorded with many producers and wrote famous hit songs for the label Irie Ites, such as "Rasta", "Born in the Ghetto", "High Grade" (with Turbulence), "Kill Dem Sound" (with Lutan Fyah), "Badda than Dem", "Murder Dem", "Sweet Jamaica" (with Natty King), and also "I Wish" with Ghetto Scorp, and "Mama" with Stonerock Record.

But there are more singles and collections to come and to be discovered. BURNING SPECTACULAR will be in Europe all summer long on tour and to complete his new album to be released soon... Stay connected!
