Lady Gaga opens up about a past eating disorder. Hi little monsters, how ya doing, I'm Bridget Daly reporting for ClevverMusic. Gaga was a surprise guest at a women's conference this week hosted by Maria Shriver, and admitted in front of the crowd that she used to struggle with bulimia. She was asked by a student how young women can be comfortable in their bodies like Gaga is, and she replied quote, "I used to throw up all the time in high school. So I'm not that confident. And maybe it's easier for me to talk about it now because I don't do it anymore. I wanted to be a skinny little ballerina but I was a voluptuous little Italian girl whose dad had meatballs on the table every night."
Gaga also admitted to being photoshopped half the time in the photos her fans see, saying, "Every video I'm in, every magazine cover, they stretch you; they make you perfect. It's not real life." Her last piece of advice was the following: "The dieting wars have got to stop. Everyone just knock it off. Because at the end of the day, it's affecting kids your age. And it's making girls sick."
