Los Angeles-based band Brutus Gets The Girl mixes everything from; indie, Spanish rock, shoegaze and synth pop in a way to stir up everyone's interest and curiosity.
Silvano Barba (vocals/guitar), sister Marisol Barba (vocals/keyboards) set out to make songs that are somewhat moody, atmospheric and accessible. Their catchy melodies, harmonizing vocals, distorted guitar and synth echoes will surely stay engraved in your mind.
They have built a loyal and growing following playing in and around Los Angeles with great reception at local venues like Hotel Cafe, Troubadour, Spaceland, The Echo and The Knitting Factory to name a few. Brutus Gets The Girl's debut album "Beautiful Things Await You", engineered and mastered in Los Angeles by Tommy Dietrick (Brian Jonestown Massacre, Sky Parade) Was mostly recorded live over a period of just two days to maintain a raw fresh energy of Brutus Gets The Girl's live shows. The album has received great feedback from online music stores iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and Napster. Their music has often been compared to a blend of New Order, Café Tacuba and Swell Season. Yet has a distinctive style that is hard to find anywhere else.
