DESCRIPTION:
The BEVERLEY BROTHERS are essentially a (tongue in cheek) Everly Brothers tribute act with a few 50s rock classics and general silliness thrown in for good measure. By a spooky coincidence they also happen to be based in the Beverley area of East Yorkshire in England.
David Parker and Craig Austin are the nucleus of the "Beverley Brothers" who work as a harmony duo either acoustically or using custom-made backing tracks recorded & produced in their own studio. They perform anywhere from Barbeques to Ballrooms. Both artists have been heavily involved in most aspects of the music business since the 1960's and have many years of colourful "rock'n'roll" experience between them.
David Parker served his vocal apprenticeship in various Humberside "mod groups" such as The Peighton Checks and The Hammer before turning pro in 1969. After a stint at the legendary Star Club in Hamburg singing with the original Glitter Band and Boston Show Band he began writing his own dance material and carved out a solo career on the lucrative European disco scene. Eventually he settled in Germany and became a highly successful record producer churning out a massive succession of worldwide hits. These included two number one "singles" and resulted in over forty platinum, gold & silver albums and discs. In 1993 he returned with his family to England in order to relax, watch some sport and play a little golf. Just to keep his "hand in" musically, he started producing meditation tapes on the "Angel Music" label (www.angelmusic.co.uk) for use in his hypnosis, healing and complementary therapy practice. Then in 2001, he was invited by Craig Austin to perform at the 60's MEGABASH "rock" reunion. The two began crooning a few "Everlies" standards and suddenly before they knew it had metamorphosised into the Beverley Brothers.
Craig Austin (singer/songwriter/producer) has enjoyed an "interesting" and varied recording career, touring and performing with such diverse bands as the blues based Dimples (Decca), the soul stirring Gospel Garden (Camp), progressive folk-rock group Methuselah (Elektra) and psychedelic trio Distant Jim (Negram). Now combining a wide range of influences picked up over the years writing and producing original material for the V8 Music Record label. Also recently recording and playing guitar with the re-formed Dimples/Imps. Checkout Craig Austin Rock Family Tree on www.v8music.com
