DESCRIPTION:
Shellac records were always fragile and easily damaged especially by the heavy sound box with the steel needle.
If this happened the needle got stuck and kept repeating itself until you move the tonearm further along.
This problem inspired lyric writers and composers to play a practical joke with the gramophone listeners as you can hear in the following two recordings !
